Starting from November 16, 2019, Australia has introduced the new Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) Subclass 491 and Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional (Provisional) Subclass 494. These two vias will substitute the Subclass 489 and Subclass 187 to encourage more immigrants to work, study and live in the regional areas. The total annual quota for the two visas is 23,000.
